Good lord! This site is a lot of fun. There are many updates about what MIGHT be coming from Nikon right down to Nikon's latest patents and what the guy's friend's dog heard from his local camera seller. Overall it's worth keeping bookmarked and I check it out nearly every day.

This site is probably among the more polite forums you'll find and quite a few professionals reside there. It features lens specific areas and a good deal of info. Because it's geared to Nikon, a good deal less trolling occurs.

This is certainly one of the largest digital camera sites around. The forums are camera specific and cover most all major brands and types. They also run fairly good reviews, though the testing methodology is not the most scientific. This is the #1 site to discuss gear, but be careful as there's also a lot of trolling and in-fighting. I suggest registering using a false-name if you're a working professional. It's still the best site for forums.

Mister Rockwell has perhaps the most comprehensive review site on the web. Much of it is geared to Nikon, though he does dabble with other quality brands and 3rd party gear. He takes a good deal of heat in forums due to his "practical" approach to shooting, which often offends the elite gear collectors. By and large he's the best source for info and valid opinions on gear along with easy to read specifications.

Thom Hogan is a well respected online reviewer with a good handle on Nikon gear. He's also proven to be very good at forecasting what's on the Nikon horizon!

This site has lost some steam over the past few years, perhaps because it's forums are a bit over-moderated. But it's still one of the best and the forums are certainly more mature due the moderators that I'm being critical of. This site tries to get members to pay, which also limits traffic.
There are a LOT more sites, but these are my favorites as they are frequently updated.
